Please join Keep Six Exhibits as we host the second annual BLOCKS T.O., an exciting urban adventure in Toronto.
BLOCKS T.O. engages teams of young and old in a car-free urban scavenger hunt, exploring how Toronto’s architecture has framed the city’s constantly evolving communities. BLOCKS T.O. is a one-day adventure that will enhance understanding between generations by exploring architecture, design and urban navigation.
Using archival photos from the early 1900’s, player-pairs will have four hours to identify long-standing buildings and locations in the here-and-now. Teams will visit locations throughout the city on foot, by public transit or by bike to collect points by finding and photographing the building or location, and getting as close as possible to the footprint of the original photographer. During last years event more than half of the participants used their bikes to get to each historical location.
BLOCKS T.O. teams will explore and re-imagine the city’s architecture and design, documenting how buildings from the past continue to shape communities, block by block. This is an opportunity to celebrate buildings and neighbourhoods; city blocks that hold countless stories of people and cultures that have lived, grown and continue in these shared spaces. At Keep Six we see cycling as not only a necessary means of transport but as a way to engage with the environment and landscape in a meaningful way. BLOCKS T.O. is a wonderful opportunity for cycling enthusiasts to experience this great city on a whole new level and we hope you will join us!
Please share this exciting adventure throughout historic Toronto with your members and look forward to having you join us on June 16!
